Sleep ISR FAQ - Scorer Licenses and Practice Scoring
Frequently asked questions about the use of Scorer Licenses and Practice Scoring.
Do we offer a "Practice Scorer" license option?
No. Sleep ISR does not offer a separate Practice Scorer license. Anyone who scores Sleep ISR records must be assigned a Full Scorer license.
Do staff members who are only earning Continuing Education Credits (CECs) need a Full Scorer license?
Yes. Users who score Sleep ISR records solely to earn CECs must still be assigned a Full Scorer license.
Can staff practice scoring without affecting our site's overall scoring average?
Yes. Staff can use the Archived Records Library to practice scoring historical records without affecting your organization's overall scoring average.
Can reports be modified to exclude practice scores from a Full Scorer's overall QA and Compliance average?
No. Scores submitted for active Sleep ISR records are included in your organization's scoring data and are factored into the site's overall scoring average for QA and Compliance reporting. If a staff member is scoring for practice, training, or CECs and their quarterly average falls below 85%, admins can note that context in the report's notes section.
What training resources are available for new scorers?
The following resources are recommended for training new scorers:
- Archived Records Library for hands-on practice scoring
- Sleep Scoring Course for guided instruction and scoring exercises
Are the Archived Records Library and Sleep Scoring Course included with all plans?
No. Both the Archived Records Library and Sleep Scoring Course are available with the Sleep ISR Premium Plan.
To upgrade to the Premium Plan, submit an email request to isr@aasm.org with the following information:
-
Sleep ISR Program Name
-
Account Number, or AASM-accredited Network Number
Our sales team will upgrade the plan and issue a prorated invoice based on your plan's annual renewal date.
What is the best way to train new scorers without affecting organizational metrics?
The best approach is to have new scorers use the Archived Records Library and Sleep Scoring Course until they are ready to score active Sleep ISR records. This allows them to gain experience without affecting your site's scoring averages or reporting metrics.
